Michelle Eisenberg

11th Grade Team Leader/ESL and Special Education Teacher

Michelle grew up in West Orange, New Jersey and majored in media studies at New York University and received her Master's in Education at Hunter College. She is our GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) Advisor and 11th Grade Team Leader. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys playing striker on her soccer team, running, and Caribbean beaches. Her favorite books are "The Talented Mr. Ripley" by Patricia Highsmith and "Jazz" by Toni Morrison.


Rabi Whitaker

Science Department Head/Earth Science Teacher

Rabi studied astrophysics and cognitive science at Swarthmore College, then discovered how much she loves geology once she started teaching Earth Science in 2003. Now she has a pretty big collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils in her classroom cabinets—come visit if you want to see her Velociraptor skull! Outside of school, she has fun making & eating desserts, doing obstacle course races, and most of all being with her husband & daughter.

Katey Phillips

Math Teacher

Katey grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and completed a Great Books undergraduate program at St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. After completing a post-baccalaureate mathematics program at Smith College, she earned her Master’s in Mathematics Education at the City College of New York. She teaches Geometry and Precalculus and is an 11th grade advisor. Outside of the classroom, Katey loves to act, play strategy-based board games, and see stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy.
